About Grosse Pointe Music Academy
Grosse Pointe Music Academy is a privately owned music school founded in 2005. What began as a single location in Grosse Pointe has grown into a multi-location academy serving students across Metro Detroit, including Canton, Brighton, and Ann Arbor.
We work with students of all ages and skill levels and focus on providing structured, high-quality music instruction in a supportive environment.
Why Teach With Us?
Consistent Student Flow
We invest in marketing and advertising year-round to ensure a steady stream of new students. Our goal is to help teachers build and maintain a full schedule.
Focus on Teaching — Not Administration
Our front desk staff handles scheduling, billing, and customer communication so you can focus entirely on teaching.
Professional Teaching Environment
All lessons take place in well-equipped studios designed for learning. You won’t have to deal with the distractions of in-home lessons or traveling between students.
Reliable Scheduling and Pay
Teachers are paid for all scheduled lessons that are not cancelled with proper notice. This helps provide more consistent income compared to independent teaching.
Independent Teaching vs. Music School Teaching
Teaching privately can offer flexibility, but it also comes with challenges such as maintaining a full schedule, managing cancellations, collecting payments, and handling marketing.
At Grosse Pointe Music Academy, we handle those responsibilities so you can spend your time doing what matters most — teaching.
While the per-lesson rate may be lower than private teaching, many instructors find that a consistent, full schedule results in higher overall earnings and a more stable workload.
