The best part is, you aren’t too late! We have a new class starting next week, Tuesdays from 9:30-10:15. You can attend the first class as a demo and enroll after you’ve experienced the program. This class will run 8 weeks, giving families a chance to pay a reduced rate from our usual 10 week classes. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the Music Together Difference and learn from our gifted teacher, Emily Schienke. Along with being a registered Music Together teacher, she is a practicing Music Therapist in the Metro Detroit area.
The Music Together Difference means that your child will experience immersion in live singing, movement and instrument play – accessing their musical aptitude and potentially increasing the aptitude they are born with. A child’s music aptitude (i.e. their ability to understand music) can increase or decrease depending on the quality of their music environment during their very early years of life. Grown-ups in the program will experience the Music Together Difference when they are encouraged to model music-making for their child, thus accessing their own musical side – something many of us adults are missing from our daily lives! And yes, we are looking for a grown-ups willing to play and sing off-key. All are welcome!
Parents, you will appreciate the Music Together Difference when you receive parent education about musical behaviors in young children, how to support musical behaviors and music development in your child. Each family receives high-quality products, CDs and a songbook filled with award-winning artwork to match the current collection in the classroom. Families learn a variety of ways to incorporate music into everyday life. Music class becomes a safe space for self-expression, and is inclusive to all developmental stages and learning styles. We can’t wait to meet you! RSVP now to the Grosse Pointe Music Academy staff to reserve your spot next Tuesday morning and see the difference for yourself!
